Fight Ticket

You hear a lot of different opinions on whether or not you can fight tickets.

Some people say you can beat any ticket on technicalities.

Others say that you are just wasting your time.

What is the truth?

The Truth about Fighting Tickets

The truth is you can fight tickets and win but there are a lot of difficult factors. There are literally methods of fighting tickets and winning 100% of the time but you have to go to legal extremes. You can to revoke the contract of your birth certificate. You do keep your citizen ship. But this is method is way beyond the scope of an Internet article.

So... The Truth is yes you can beat traffic tickets but the costs are often not worth it.

There are also common personal or social engineering ways to beat traffic tickets. You can call the officer at work and if you have a good story and you are very personable you can often get them to drop the ticket. The officer does have the authority to do this.

You can write a letter to the officer. Even if you met with the officer, you can hurt to write him a letter pleading your case to him. Write it professionally, succinctly, and include complete contact information. You can even offer alternative punishment.

So remember to think beyond the legality and proof. The prosecutor, judge and officer are all people. People can be appealed to. You just have to do it differently then most offenders. If you act like other offenders you will be cataloged in their mind and they will treat you like everyone else.

Call the prosecutor. The worst they can say is no. Remember people are people.

Delay. Ask for as many delays or continuances to your trial date as you can. Do lie but put off your trial date as long as possible. The longer the officer has to remember you the better. The cop tickets lots of people all the time. More time and they are more likely to forget YOU. :-) Sometimes they do not even show up for court dates. Especially ones that are postponed. Of course they know you forget them too so sometimes they will have a friend (Another cop) who is in court stand in for them. Automatic "Not Guilty" if you can catch them.

Do some more research. The life hacker website has a particularly good article.

Remember there is nothing to be afraid of. It is a process with real people. They are not going to shoot you. Heck the MAXIMUM fine is already written on the ticket. It can only get better from there.

99% of the time you will pay less. Especially for a first offence.

They are people. They are on the opposite side of an issue as you but they are trying to do good. They are not evil.

Enjoy learning.
